Everyone knows the romantic winter jingle, Let it Snow, first recorded by Vaughn Monroe.

“Oh the weather outside is frightful,
But the fire is so delightful,
And since we've no place to go,
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!” sang Monroe. 

But what if you and your fiancé don’t want to stay in all winter curled up by the fire?
You may not be able to take long walks on the beach or hit up the local outdoor mart, but there are plenty of things to do and places to go during the winter months. It's important to keep the flame alive during the engagement period so don't stay indoors for too long! 
 
Here are a few winter date ideas to heat things up:

Go Ice Skating
Ice Skating is the perfect activity for a cold winter eve. If you live in NYC there is no rink that comes close to the Ice Rink at Rockefeller Center. Take out your warmest sporty attire and skate away to your favorite love song!

Grab a Cup of Hot Coco
Cafés are great date places all year-round. During the winter it’s fun to change up what you usually order to drink. Go ahead and splurge on a hot coco with marshmallows. Starbucks has an awesome selection of special winter drinks. Have you ever tried their Gingerbread Latte?!

Rent a Movie
When all else fails, cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie. It’s always fun to rent holiday classics during the winter season. Some favorites include: Miracle on 34th Street, Home Alone, and The Preacher’s Wife.  

Go to a Hockey Game
Your guy will love this idea. Head out to a hockey game to show your (I mean, his) favorite team support. Note: bring your iphone just in case you get bored!  

Have a Snowball Fight
Sometimes fighting is good for relationships, especially when it involves snowballs! Channel your inner child by having some fun in the snow. But be careful, things might snowball out of control faster than you expect!
