Even if she has an engagement ring on her finger, a lady will always remember her first date. Here are some tips to make it fun and memorable.

1. DO be spontaneous

As long as it's within reason, you should always be open to go with whatever your date has planned out. Horseback riding? Yes! Check out a new restaurant? Definitely! Fishing? Sure, why not? It's always exciting for a guy to date a girl who knows how to go with the flow and doesn't take herself too seriously. And chances are, he's spent a lot of time thinking about something that will be fun for you both to and enthusiasm is always an attractive quality!

2. DON'T talk about your exes

This is the cardinal DON'T rule of dating. Talking about your ex on the first date is a lose-lose situation: if you bad mouth him, you come across as petty, bitter and possibly as someone who still has feelings for her ex. If you speak highly of him, your date will think you're still in love with him and he'll be out the door before you know it. Either way, it's best to leave the topic for a later (preferably much later) time.

3. DO be clear with him about whether you'll want to see him again

Guys always say that asking a girl out is really hard. Well, so is reading signals once they're on the date. If you're having a great time, you can let him know at a couple of different points in the night. You can also let him know at the end of the night with a simple, "I had a great time." If you have no interest in seeing him again, let him know as well. Though it might feel awkward, it's never a good idea to lead anyone on. If he asks if he can call you again, let him know that although you had a great time, you don't think you're the right match for each other.
