Diamond thieves Jan. 17 smashed the window of a Sydney, Australia jewelry store and stole $5 million US in rare pink diamonds.

It was reported that the thieves used a stolen white Nissan SUV to crash through the rear window of the Mondial Neuman store in the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney around 9 am local time.
Police stated that four people were in the car, and two of them had sledgehammers and rushed into the store through the smashed window.

The store owner, who specializes in the sale of pink diamonds, said the robbery was conducted with "military-style precision."

He also said that many pink diamond and other off-color gems were stolen. The owner estimated that the stolen items were worth $2-5 million. He noted, however, that there was "a lot of good stuff they didn`t get."
A store employee stated that one diamond thief ran into the store screaming "Give me your money!" Another robber was on his cell phone yelling "QVB now, QVB now," so it was clear the job was set up.
