The holiday season is one of the biggest times to get engaged and look forward to an upcoming new life with your partner. It’s also a time to look to the past and learn the lessons that will make you a better person. We asked the staff at James Allen what their New Year’s Resolutions were, and got an outpouring of good responses. Here’s what they had to say:

“My New Year’s resolution is to start exercising. On January 1, I am walking my lazy self over to the gym and I promise myself I will start going. I know I will be happy once I start but I totally lack the motivation to do it, so this is the perfect time to put my money where my mouth is!”

“I have decided that after the new year, I am hiring a wedding planner. I’ve been stressing out over planning my wedding for the last 4 months and haven’t gotten nearly as far as I thought I would. I thought I could do it without professional help but I am running out of time and need a pro. I just want to enjoy the process of planning all the details of my wedding and I know that will only happen if I hire someone who has done this a million times.”

“I made the resolution to stop trying so hard to find love. I broke up with my boyfriend of 4 years over a year ago, and since then I’ve been obsessively dating, trying to find someone who is even better than my last boyfriend. I think this year, I put so much pressure on myself to find my soul mate that I stopped enjoying the dating process and forgot why I want companionship in the first place! I feel relieved to say it out loud and can’t wait to see what kind of surprises the new year brings!”
