Now you can inscribe favorite digital photos on your diamonds

Sun, January 06 2008, 07:27 EST

New nanotechnology processes are now allowing people to inscribe high-resolution photographs on diamonds and other gems. Gemory LLC has developed the process, which can immortalize precious photo scenes on diamonds without harming the stone.

The firm stated that it can even inscribe several photos next to each other, to create a photo album. The pictures cannot be seen by the naked eye, but can be viewed on a special viewing device called GemmaView.

The new technology has only so far been used to inscribe numbers and letters on stones.

One expert on the diamond industry commented that the technology has a variety of possible applications, from consumer products to homeland security.
