Have you considered sending out paperless wedding invitations? Forget about tradition. Here are the top three reasons why you should save the trees and go green.

1. It’s eco-friendly. One of the main reasons people are opposed to sending out paperless invitations is because they think it’s inappropriate for a once-in-a-lifetime event, like a formal wedding. Others worry that it sends a dismissive message to your guests – something like: “your presence at my wedding isn’t worth the value of a real invitation.” Still, most naysayers just think it makes them look cheap. Well, I’m here to tell you that you’re all wrong. Paperless invites show your guests that you care about the environment and know that most invitations will either get lost or tossed in the trash.

2. It simplifies your life (and your guests too!). Really, who the heck wants to track down 200 mailing addresses? Address books are so 1999. This is the new millennium, and in this century, everything is done online. With a simple click of a button, you can send out beautiful paperless invites to everyone on your list? And what’s better? It couldn’t be easier for your guests to RSVP! In today’s world, it’s a nuisance to have to find a mailbox and send back an RSVP card (that is, if your guests haven’t already misplaced their RSVP cards somewhere amongst all the junk mail they receive everyday). Plus, they can easily add it in to their calendars, smart phones and look up directions online.

3. They’re pretty. With paper invitations becoming less and less commonplace, the breadth of beautiful e-invitations are growing every day. There are a wide variety of companies that provide gorgeous paperless invitations for little to no cost. You can find or design paperless invitations according to your wedding colors and/or theme.

If you’re open to the idea of paperless invitations, you will find that they are environmentally smart, more convenient for you and your guests, easily customizable and they’ll save you money. And saving money on invitations means more money to spend on what’s really important… dessert!
