California`s Northstar-at-Tahoe Resort has just announced a ski package that includes seven nights of luxury lodging, lift tickets, dining credits, and a $10,000 rare black diamond necklace.  The over-the-top Black Diamond Ski package costs a whopping $26,653 – and that`s before taxes. 

The black diamond necklace was created by jewelers Spirits in Stone, who run a boutique at Northstar-at-Tahoe`s resort.  They`re one of the few galleries and jewelers in the United States to carry black diamonds.  Black diamonds, also known as Carbonados, are quite rare.  Their origin is still under dispute – some scientists claim that Carbonados are of extraterrestrial origin (coming from asteroids and meteorites) while others claim that that they`re formed here on Earth.

The Black Diamond Ski Package was created in celebration of the expansions on Lookout Mountain and the completion of the Village at Northstar project.
