Way before the engagement ring comes the relationship, and way before the relationship comes dating and way before dating comes actually meeting a potential mate. Here are the top three places to meet the man of your dreams and no, it’s not at a bar.

1. The Supermarket

I know it might sound mundane but the supermarket can actually be a really great place to meet men. If you go sometime after work or before dinnertime, chances are that a cute single guy or two will also by stopping by at the same time (head straight for the prepackaged food sections to increase your odds). Strike up a conversation by asking his opinion.

You:  How’s that pesto? I’ve always wanted to try it but haven’t gotten around to buying it.

Cute Guy: It’s a little on the garlic-y side but still really good.

You: Want to reenact the spaghetti scene from Lady and the Tramp?

2.  The Library

The library is a great place to meet single guys. First and foremost, no matter what, it’s always a turn on to see a guy who cares about his education. Secondly, the fact that he’s reading something can give you a quick window into his interests and whether or not you two will have anything in common. Is he reading about the Renaissance and are you a total history buff? Find the common ground and make some easy conversation – the first (and hardest) step is already out of the way!

3.  The Dog Park

The dog park is one of the best places to meet eligible bachelors. There are about a million ways to strike up a conversation (“You’re dog is so cute! What kind of breed is he? Um… can you pick up after him?) and should the conversation ever take an awkward turn, you can always redirect your attention back to your adorable dog. An added benefit? The fact that he has a dog means that he is responsible and trustworthy.
