New CEO for Anglo American Plc

Cynthia Carroll has been named the new CEO of Anglo American Plc, a gold mining company founded in 1917 by Ernest Oppenheimer. Anglo American is a majority stake holder of DeBeers. Currently Carroll is the president and CEO of Alcan Primary Metal. She will be the successor to Tony Trahar and will begin her new position on March 1, 2007. Carroll will be the first woman to hold this position. Congratulations to her!
