What luck! About 6 months ago Lazare Kaplan International called the International Gemological Institute to inform them of a 20-ct, round brilliant cut, D color, flawless diamond which had been stolen. Last month a diamond was submitted to IGI`s Antwerp laboratory for analysis. IGI recognized the matching characteristics and identified an attempt to remove a laser inscription on the girdle. This was certainly the stolen diamond. The Antwerp authorities has sequestered the stone and have taken over the matter according to IGI. Great save!
