Here`s a story that ought to crack you up, and maybe even make your lunch turn. According to news reports from the United Arab Emirates, an Arab ambassador received quite a shock after he exchanged wedding rings with his bride.

Since it is custom for women in Arab countries to cover their face with a veil, the unnamed ambassador courted his bride – a doctor – without actually seeing her face. He simply relied on a photograph shown to him by the bride`s mother.

Well, on the wedding day, after he lifted the veil to kiss the bride, he discovered she was cross-eyed and had facial hair. Turns out the photograph he was shown was of the bride`s attractive sister.

Quickly, the ambassador went to seek an annulment. He told the Islamic sharia court that he was duped into marriage and deserved compensation. According to Gulf News, he requested that the court refer the woman to a specialist to see if she suffered from hormonal problems. The specialist found there to be no such problem.

Although the court granted the annulment, it rejected the man`s $145,000 compensation claim for gifts he had purchased his fiancee.
