St. Paul, MN – On June 20, one Minnesota couple decided that their wedding would be anything but ordinary, and started their marriage off with a bang. After all of the guests were seated at the wedding of Kevin Heinz and Jill Peterson, an announcement was made that the ceremony was going to start. One of the ushers shut the church doors, and suddenly the church was filled with the hip hop rhythm of Chris Brown`s song "Forever".
Then two other ushers threw their programs in the air and began dancing down the aisle. Then the bridesmaids and groomsmen followed suit. One stood on his hands for a few seconds, then joined the procession. After the wedding party lined up on either side of the aisle, Heinz danced in and did a somersault down the rest of the aisle and toward the altar. Soon, all attention was on Peterson as she danced her way to meet Heinz.
Evidently, the couple had been planning this since Peterson received her engagement ring. She told WCCO-TV in Minneapolis that, "I think it was one of the first things we decided when we got engaged." She grew up dancing, and wanted to incorporate that into the ceremony, rather than waiting to rock out at the reception. Although the whole thing looked well-choreographed, they only rehearsed for about an hour and a half, according to the bride. A lot of it was improvisation.
The family insisted that the video get up on YouTube promptly so everyone who couldn`t be at the wedding could see it. Before Peterson and Heinz knew it, the video went viral, and has, as of Friday, received more than 1.4 million hits. The couple has not only been interviewed by local television stations, but appeared on the Today Show with Meredith Vieira and Matt Lauer. Their unconventional wedding has made them national celebrities.
