The American Gem Society Laboratories has appointed John A. Politi, Jr., as the new director, business development. This is a newly created position for AGS. Politi will be headquartered in New York`s Diamond District. He will be "responsible for developing new business relationships and furthering the implementation and usage of AGS Lab Diamond Quality Documents & Reports within the New York jewelry community." Politi previously worked on behalf of the Assay Office Birmingham, UK and was responsible for establishing an analytical testing center in the USA. The firm`s business was in testing and identifying diamonds and colored gemstones, fine jewelry appraisals and precious metal analysis.Politi is a director for the board of the Jewelers Board of Trade.
