Robert Pattinson, 24, knows a thing or two about getting married. He’s propsed to his love interest with a gorgeous diamond ring and said “I Do” before close family and friends…on screen! The Twilight actor just finished shooting the wedding scene for Breaking Dawn –Part 1 and has lots to say on the matter.

 "The groom's role in a wedding ... is just a prop," Pattinson said at a promotional event for the film. "Even playing the part, you kind of realize [that]. I mean, it's such a clear indication whose day it is when you're standing on one end of the aisle and the entire congregation is on the other, and you're in the same suit as every other guy."

Even the planning and design of the wedding is determined by the bride, according to Pattinson.

"Any guy who tries to get involved in organizing a wedding or even has an opinion of what a wedding should be, then they're kind of ridiculous. It's whatever your wife decides to do," he added.

Filming the wedding scene must have been nerve-wracking for Pattinson and co-star, Kristen Stewart, 21, who are dating in real life.

“I had a million different things going on in my head. What I kept telling myself was, Stop, stop, stop. Like, just do it. Actually, have this experience because you're just about to ruin it. ... I needed to just put the dress on and go and stand there and walk and see [Robert] and everyone." Stewart said in an interview.

Nerves are understandable considering the intense feelings Pattinson and Stewart have for each other. The pair first met on the set of Twilight and after months of denying rumors, openly admitted to dating on The Oprah Winfrey Show. 

Anyone who has seen the Twilight series can vouch for their undeniable on-screen chemistry,

"It's crazy just how close they are," Twilight director Bill Condon commented in an interview with PEOPLE.

The obvious question, of course, is when will Pattinson and Stewart get married off screen? Do you think this superstar couple is headed for happily-ever-after or will the pressure of Hollywood tear them apart?
