Matthew McConaughey is finally getting married! It’s about time McConaughey put an engagement ring on it!

On Christmas Eve, the How to Lose a Guy in 10 days actor, announced his engagement to longtime lover and the Brazilian model Camila Alves.

"Just asked Camila to marry me," McConaughey wrote on his WhoSay account. "Merry Christmas.

He also shared a picture of the newly-engaged couple kissing by the Christmas tree.

McConaughey, 42, has been dating Alves, 28, for nearly 4 years and currently live in Austin, Texas. They have two kids together— Levi, 3, and Vida, almost 2.

"I always wanted to be a father," McConaughey told People im 2008. "It just took the right woman and the right time to make it happen…[Alves] is the love of my life. Everything is right."

McConaughey first made a name for himself with his stellar performance in Dazed and Confused (1993). He then appeared in – films such as We Are Marshall, A Time to Kill, and Contact. More recently, McConaughey has adopted the role of chic-flick leading man staring in favorites such as How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, The Wedding Planner, Fool's Gold, Failure to Launch and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.

It was a certainly a wonderful Christmas indeed Matthew McConaughey and his future wife Camila Alves. We can't think of a better gift than a massive diamond engagement ring!
