Kristin Chenoweth doesn’t have an engagement ring or wedding band. She’s never been married and doesn’t have kids. How does the Tony award winning actress feel about her single status?
"I'd love to have a husband to have a child with," Chenoweth, 43, told Prevention magazine. "It hasn't exactly worked out that way, and that's okay. I would still love to have that partner, that man – that right one who's going to take care of me yet let me do my thing, yet has his own gig going on, yet isn't intimidated!" she said.
Chenoweth, who starred as Sally Brown on Broadway, seems to be doing alright on her own. She even adopted a Maltese named Maddie.
"Show business can make you so self-focused, even if you're not that kind of person," Chenoweth adds. "Since I wasn't married and didn't have a child, I needed something to take care of. So I got a dog."
Chenoweth is so in love with her new “baby” that she has even founded a charity in her puppy’s name. Maddie's Corner is a charity that supports animal shelters and organizations. Karma Rescue is one organization that helps homeless puppies find homes. The organization lent the Staffordshire terrier-Lab mix pups Chenoweth posed with on the cover of Prevention.
After the shoot, Karma Rescue made sure that each puppy found a home.
It’s so wonderful to see an influential actress like Chenoweth making a difference! There are so many animals out there that are treated cruelly and don’t have homes. More celebrities should follow in her footsteps and adopt causes that are important to them.
So what do you say? How about adopting a puppy this holiday season?!
