Is it possible that Kobe Bryant and Vanessa will not get divorced after all?

Rumor has it the Lakers star wants his estranged wife back and will do anything to earn her trust. The 33-year-old NBA player is “aggressively pursuing” Vanessa, according to TMZ.com.  Sources say Bryant has been whipping out the credit cards to buy his wife of almost 11 years all sorts of expensive gifts and diamond jewelry.

The plan seems to be working, although friends of the couple say Vanessa is apprehensive about taking him back. As far as she concerned, they have tried to work things out in the past and saving the marriage is hopeless. Still, Vanessa, 29, was recently spotted cheering on her ex at one of his games.  Soon after, the two were seen smooching in the stands and tunnel to the locker room.

What does this mean for Bryant and Vanessa’s pending divorce due to finalize in June? Will they agree to joint custody of their two daughters, Natalia, 9, and Gianna, 5? Will Vanessa get half of Kobe’s earnings, as she did not sign a prenuptial agreement?

Friends of the couple say that although Bryant and Vanessa had their share of marriage troubles (including Bryant’s sexual assault charges and admitting to adultery), “they really love each other.”  The two first met on the set of a music video shoot when Bryant was just 21. They became engaged 6 months later and married a year following their engagement. During his sexual assault trials, Bryant reportedly bought Vanessa a $4 million diamond ring.
