Oh no! Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony are calling it quits. After seven years of marriage the power couple has decided to split.

"We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Lopez and Anthony, who secretly married in June 2004, seemed to be the perfect couple. They both have successful music careers and steal the spotlight at every award show and fundraiser they attended. In 2008, they welcomed two adorable twins—Max and Emme—to their family.

So what went wrong? How did Hollywood’s favorite superstar couple get to this point?

Signs of trouble had been present for the past month according to sources close to the couple. Before the announcement, Lopez seemed to be spending more time with her mother, Guadalupe Lopez, than Anthony. When the royal couple, Kate Middleton and William, came to Los Angeles a few weeks ago, Lopez attended the red carpet event with her mother. In June, Lopez took her children to Disneyland with her mother. They even took a spontaneous trip to Europe with the twins. Where was Marc the whole time?

Come to think of it, the last time the couple was seen in public was at the Samsung Hope for Children Gala in New York on June 7. Lopez, who is known for her infectious smile, did not seem her usual bubbly self at the event. Surely marital stress and other personal problems were taking a toll on the Selena star.

Lopez, who has been married twice before, has asked the public and media to respect her and Anthony’s privacy during their difficult time.

Such sudden and unexpected news!  On the bright side, at least it lasted longer than most Hollywood marriages.
