Of all the Bachelorette breakups, this is by far the most shocking! There will be no wedding for Ali and Roberto! After 8 months of engagement, Ali is taking off her asscher-cut Neil Lane engagement ring and calling it quits.

Yesterday, the couple’s rep issued a statement, saying: “Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez have ended their relationship. As they go through this difficult time, we ask that you respect the couple's privacy.”

Ali, 27, and Roberto, 28, first met in 2010 in the 6th season of the reality show. The former Facebook ad sales rep was quickly swept off her feel by insurance agent Roberto Martinez. The South Carolina-based hottie showed Ali how to salsa dance and played catch with her in a local park. Later on, the lovers went on a adventurous date, during which they took a helicopter ride over Los Angeles and kissed on top of a 100-foot tightrope.

Considering their instant connection, it wasn’t surprising when Ali gave Roberto her final rose and sent landscaper Chris Lambton packing. Roberto proposed to Ali in Bora Bora after their final date which included jet-skiing and a private picnic on the beach.

Last October, Ali denied rumors that the couple was heading for a breakup, after they delayed wedding plans. 

"We didn't meet in the most traditional way. We had a very short courtship and we only knew each other nine weeks before we got engaged," she told PEOPLE. "We are still figuring out our lives as individuals. We're still engaged, we're still living together. We just don't feel the need to walk down the aisle right now," Ali assured fans.

Sources close to the couple revealed that the reality stars have been having relationship troubles for a while. “Their relationship has been tumultuous since day one,” a close friend of the couple’s told US Weekly. “They’re either extremely happy or they can’t stand each other.”
Another unnamed source said, “She’s miserable in the relationship and he is too.”

How sad! We really had high hopes for this seemingly perfect Bachelorette couple!
