Prince William and Kate have not even been married a year and already the public is itching to know when they will have a baby. According to recent reports, the newlyweds will put off starting a family until next year. In the meantime, William and Kate will direct their attention towards the upcoming Diamond Jubilee and the London Olympics.

“Realistically there is not going to be time for a baby and they have said they are in no hurry. There is no urgent need for an heir – we already have two,’ said a source close to the Royal Family. William and Kate want to take things in their own good time.”

Clarence House announced that Kate will begin solo engagements with various charities next month, once William leaves for his first mission in the Falkland Island.

“The Duchess will have a handful of engagements while the Duke is away,” a Clarence House spokesman said. “She will visit all her patronages publicly at least once and continue to visit them privately. It will be a busy period.”
Kate, who became engaged last Novemeber(remember her stunning sapphire engagement ring?!), plans to volunteer at The Art School, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices National Portrait Gallery and Action. She also plans to work with the Scout Association.

“The reason she chose so few charities is that she wants to get to know them intimately,” the spokesperson added.

Volunteering will certainly provide a distraction for Kate, who undoubtedly is nervous about William’s forthcoming missions.

“It will be a good distraction for her and take her mind off worrying about William,” said another source close to the royal couple. “At the moment, starting a family is definitely on the backburner.”

Meanwhile, Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton, has been doing some volunteering of her own.

Just a few days before flying to Mustique for a vacation getaway, Pippa stopped by the Mary Hare school for deaf children in Berkshire to explore charity opportunities.

“Pippa is very keen to give something back and she’s open to charity work”, revealed a friend of Pippa. “James is looking to incorporate a charitable dimension within his cake business.”

William and Kate have a busy next few months. They will be apart for the majority of February and March and then prepare for the Diamond Jubilee weekend in June. They also plan to tour Malaysia, Singapore, Tuvalu and the Solomon Islands in September or October.
