So you`ve said your vows, exchanged wedding rings, and now you`re ready to let loose and have some fun dancing. Instead of hiring a DJ or some second-rate wedding band, why not hire the Rolling Stones?
That`s right, the Rolling Stones. For a mere 5 million pounds, singer Mick Jagger, guitarist Keith Richards, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Ronnie Wood would be delighted to perform all the hits - from `Brown Sugar` to `You Can`t Always Get What You Want` – and everything else in between.
The Stones` hefty price tag have earned them the distinguished designation of the world`s most expensive wedding act, ahead of pop stars Elton John and Kylie Minogue, who only ask for 2 million pounds to play at weddings. Elton, however, donates his earnings from private concerts to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, a charity he set up and organized.
According to a recent poll, diva Christina Aguilera was named the fourth most expensive nuptial performer at 1.5 million pounds a show and George Michaels earns a colossal 1.3 million pounds for a private concert. Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney and Jennifer Lopez each earn a whopping 1 million pounds per performance.
Just last Friday, U2 took a break from their tour to perform at the wedding of Andrea Corr (of The Corrs) and billionaire Brett Desmond.
So, if you or someone you know is planning a wedding, don`t settle for the same old song and dance. Write a check for 5 million pounds and have the Rolling Stones inject their ageing rock n` roll into your wedding day – you won`t regret it.
