One of Hollywood`s most beloved couples, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, have ended their 23 year relationship. The couple have two sons - Jack Henry, 20, and Miles Guthrie, 17.

Although Sarandon and Robbins never exchanged wedding rings, they truly seemed as though they were in it for the long run. In a statement released on Wednesday, publicist Teal Cannady revealed that the pair split this summer. She did not elaborate.

Sarandon, 63, and Robbins, 51, met in 1988 while shooting the film Bull Durham.

Sarandon has stared in such memorable films like Thelma and Louise and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. In 1996 she won an Oscar for her role in Dead Man Walking. The film was directed by Robbins.

Robbins won an Academy Award for his role in 2003's Mystic River, directed by Clint Eastwood.

In addition to the couple's sons, Susan has a daughter, Eva Amurri, from a previous relationship. Amurri recently starred in Showtime`s hit show Californication, along side David Duchovny.

Sarandon will star in Peter Jackson`s The Lovely Bones, opening worldwide next month. Robbins last appeared in 2008's City of Ember.
