Former minor league American baseball star Doug Reinhardt is wooing Paris Hilton with lavish gifts. The former athlete turned reality TV star knows that diamonds are a girl`s best friend and he`s giving Paris plenty of them.

The socialite couple looked happy during an appearance at the Venice Film Festival after spending the day in the shopping district and taking in the sights. Witnesses say that the `Hills` star treated the hotel heiress to jewels from Cartier. An onlooker revealed: "Doug whipped out his black Amex card and took Paris on a major shopping spree. They went to Cartier where he bought her the entire diamond panther collection of rings, necklaces, and bracelets."

It`s no secret that the couple has recently reunited after a break up in June. It appears the Reinhardt is determined to show Paris he feels strongly for her. Or maybe, he is showing the world that he is Paris` man - Hilton was recently spotted at an LA nightclub, where she was enjoying the company of soccer player Christiano Ronaldo.

Paris has recently filmed a scene for the CW`s hit show, `Supernatural`. She will be playing a shape shifter that takes on the form of… Paris Hilton. Reports have said she will be doing some fighting scenes.

Before jetting to Vancouver for shooting, she hung life size pictures of herself in Doug`s apartment. According to a source: "Before jet-setting to Vancouver, Paris had her team pay a visit to Doug's house, bringing over life-size photos of herself to hang throughout the mansion."

Who knows if this relationship will persevere, but for now they both seem happy together. They were most recently spotted kissing and being intimate at a party on board designer Alberta Ferretti`s yacht.
