Michael C. Hall - the actor who plays serial killer/blood splatter analyst Dexter Morgan on Showtime`s hit show Dexter – recently revealed he has being treated for Hodgkin`s lymphoma, a type of cancer.
Just last week, Hall won a Golden Globe for his outstanding performance on Dexter, and this week he was name outstanding actor in a drama series at Saturday`s Screen Actor`s Guild Awards.
Celebrating his wins, Michael told the press: "I'm two-thirds of the way through this treatment that already has this thing in remission. It's nice in the homestretch to have this kind of shock of positive energy. It's a celebration."
The 38 year old actor is known to be a very private individual. He initially revealed he had cancer because he knew he would be making several public appearances in the near future: "Because award shows were imminent, I had to make a statement," he said at last week's Golden Globes.
It seems that his decision to reveal his current health tribulation has had a positive effect on the actor: "I've been feeling very well, because I made this announcement. Because of these public events, I've heard from people I would have not have heard from otherwise," he told reporters backstage at the SAG Awards.
Michael exchanged wedding rings with his Dexter co-star, Jennifer Carpenter. on December 31, 2008.
