Ashlee Simpson has a sexy new man!

Popstar and fashion designer Ashlee Simpson is reportedly seeing Boardwalk Empire actor Vincent Piazza. Simpson was spotted holding hands and kissing Piazza in NYC last Monday, June 20. Do you think there's an engagement ring around the corner?!

Who is this Piazza fellow anway?  Has anyone heard of him? Apparently the former Division I ice hockey player is one of Hollywood’s up and coming young celebrities. He got his big break starring in 2007's Rocket Science and has appeared in several TV series including The Sopranos, Law & Order and Rescue Me. The actor of German-Italian descent also performed in a few Broadway shows such as Baby Steps, A Match Made in Manhattan and Much Ado About Nothing.

Simpson is still officially married, although she filed for divorce from her husband rockstar Pete Wentz in February this year. The couple who once upon a time were inseparable surprisingly separated after just two years of marriage. Is it just me or are celebrity marriages getting shorter? Seriously, it seems like just yesterday the Simspon and Wentz were proclaiming their love for each other. The couple, who were pregnant with a baby at the time, went all out for their big day. Celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss helped plan their outrageous Alice in Wonderland themed wedding.

"He's a cutie," Simpson gushed at the time of their engagement. "He has an awesome personality and kind of brings out the best of me and I knew that even before we were dating. There was just like an awesome connection we had."

In an interview with PEOPLE, Wentz explained, "We're past the honeymoon period. The truth is, it's crazy to be able to kiss your best friend. It's just a really awesome thing."

Yet despite their breakup, the couple has remained close friends. Recently they were spotted in Sherman Oaks, California hanging out with their son, Mowgli.

Simspon has been busy with the launch of her tween apparel collection with older sister Jessica Simpson. The sister duo plan to create a funky clothing line which will be an extension of the Jessica Simpson Collection. 

"I'm excited to bring my sister, Ashlee, along as co-creative director of this division, because she brings a savvy rocker edge that defines today’s tweens" said Jessica in a recent interview .

"My goal as co-creative director will be to design clothes that will help inspire young girls to express their personalities and creativity through fashion," Ashlee added.

So far though things seem to be going well for Ashlee and Piazza . Back in May Ashlee tweeted about her new beau writing, "The light of my life. I adore you:) " Let's see how long this one lasts…
