2011’s Top 5 Celebrity Engagement Rings:

1. Kate Middleton’s engagement ring is this year’s showstopper. It’s hard to top her antique 18-carat diamond-encrusted blue sapphire ring. The exquisite stone was worn by Princess Diana, Prince William's late mother. Princess Diana picked out the ring from a Garrard's catalogue back in the Eighties and it cost £28,000 at the time.
   
   


2. Natalie Portman’s engagement ring is almost as beautiful as her. The $35,000 vintage-style round diamond ring is also eco-friendly which is typical of Portman. Last year, the Oscar winner became engaged to Benjamin Millepied, whom she fell for while filming Black Swan.
   
   


3. Reese Witherspoon’s engagement ring features a 4-carat Ashoka diamond on a pave diamond-and-platinum band. "It's an elegant cut and it has an old feel to it," said Eve Goldberg of William Goldberg Diamond Corporation who designed the unique engagement ring. The Legally Blonde actress said "yes" to Hollywood agent Jim Toth last Christmas; the couple married March 26, 2011 in a country-elegant style affair.
   
   


4. Kristin Cavallari’s engagement ring is one of this year’s most stunning. It’s too bad Cavallari’s engagement to Chicago Bears player Jay Cutler was just called off. The MTV star’s three-carat Asscher cut style engagement ring is worth a reported $125,000. The question remains: what will Cavallari do with her ring now that she won’t be walking down the aisle?
   
   


5. The Kim Kardashian engagement ring is probably this year’s most expensive celebrity engagement ring, worth a whopping $2 million dollars. New Jersey Nets forward Kris Humphries gave Kardashian a Lorraine Schwartz ring — a 16.5 emerald cut center stone, bordered by a pair of 2-carat trapezoids. Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring completely topped her younger sister Khloe Kardashian’s — a 12.5 radiant cut pave diamond ring worth $850,000, given to her by fiance Lakers player Lamar Odom.
