Michaele Salahi—former Real Housewives of D.C. Star and White House party crasher—is sporting a huge diamond ring on her wedding finger. The sparkler is from her rocker boyfriend Neal Schon, of Journey fame, who Salahi left her husband Tareq Salah for, ending an eight year marriage.
Tareq and Michaele Salahi rose to prominence in 2009 when they “gate-crashed” a US state dinner at the Whitehouse. The incident made headlines around the world and created a huge publicity buzz for the Salahis, who had snagged photo ops with President Obama and Vice President Joe Biden.
But even though Schon has slipped the huge ring on Salahi's finger, isn’t yet known whether or not the couple are actually engaged. Their relationship status is as clear as muddy water.
Schon himself was recently married to former Playboy playmate Avian Fabian (he divorced first wife Amber Kozan in 2008), just two months prior to publicly announcing his relationship with Michaele Salahi. Tareq Salahi filed for divorce from Michaele just last September. So neither Schon or Michaele are officially legally divorced and off-the-hook yet. Tareq recently auctioned some of his personal effects associated with his life with Michale, including his platinum Tiffany wedding ring, in a Beverly Hills showroom. Sources say he did it to get closure from the relationship, and not for monetary gain.
Michaele Salahi, a publicity-loving socialite, has a talent for landing rich men. Neal Schon, like Tareq Salahi, has showered her with extravagant gifts including a $350,000 Bentley convertible. Her new diamond ring is estimated at $15,000. But is it an engagement ring?
Some sources say the ring is just a token of appreciation from Schon, while others speculate it’s an engagement ring, gifted before an official engagement announcement. Neil Schon has referred to the sparkler as “token of love.” Although marriage seems a likely prospect for Michaele Salahi and Neal Schon, there’s no telling how their officially unofficial relationship will turn out.
