Britney Spears’ engagement ring is getting a lot of attention from the media and one person in particular… her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. While some people might scoff at their ex marrying someone else, especially one who is going to take an active role in raising his children), K-Fed says he’s “totally happy” for the queen of pop’s new engagement to Hollywood agent Jason Trawick. In an interview with People magazine, the former back up dancer said that the two children he fathered with Spears, Preston and Jayden, only have good things to say about their soon-to-be step-father.
The couple became engaged in 2004 after they met on tour. Federline was Spears’ backup dancer. On flight from Europe to the United States, Spears went ahead asked Federline if he wanted to get married, to which he answered, “no.” He claims he turned down her engagement proposal because he wanted it to be more romantic. He finally ended up buying her a 5-carat, diamond engagement ring.
Spears and Federline were married for two years, from 2004 – 2006, citing irreconcilable differences. Spears wanted full custody of their two sons, but eventually Federline received full custody during a very public breakdown which finally saw Spears hospitalized for mental issues.
Spears also married childhood friend Jason Alexander in a Las Vegas Chapel in 2004 for total of 55 hours. The marriage was quickly annulled, which posed no threat to Ms. Spears’ and her massive estate, who is the second highest grossing female in the world.
