Kelly Clarkson, 29, has been all over the news promoting the release of her fifth album Stronger.  But rather than speaking about her music, she is constantly being asked about her dating life and plans for the future.

So what has our favorite American Idol winner been saying? Where does she want to be in five years? Does she dream about an engagement ring and fancy white gown?

Clarkson’s music may be the focus of her life now, but she hopes to get married and start a family soon. Just to clarify, since there have been numerous rumors about the singer’s sexuality, Clarkson is looking for a husband; she is not interested in women. 

"Hopefully I'm ... married with four kids." I love what I do right now, but I live a very single life," Clarkson said in an interview with The Daily Beast. "I'm enjoying that, but I don't plan on doing this forever," she added.

''I'm from a small town, so everyone's married with children or about to have children. It's a little hard when you go home and people are like, and that's why people think I'm gay, because they're like, ‘Why aren't you married?’ And I'm like, ‘It doesn't happen for everyone right off the bat!’ Clarkson explained.

So Clarkson is indeed dating men, and hoping that she will meet Mr. Right sooner than later.

“Some days I think, ‘I’ll meet him. Everybody finds somebody,’ and other days I’m like, ‘Maybe I won’t. Maybe I just missed the memo,’” Clarkson said. 

In the meantime, like most single women, she’s slogging through her share of bad dates.

“Man, I just keep going on horrible dates. 'I’m like, ‘There’s not enough wine in the world for me to enjoy this,’” laughed Clarkson.
