It’s been 7 years since Ben Affleck gave Jennifer Garner a $500,000 cushion-cut Harry Winston engagement ring and asked for her hand in marriage. My how time flies!
With all the breakups and rumored affairs in Hollywood, how has this high-profile couple kept it together? What is the secret behind their long-lasting, loving relationship?
"We both know we couldn't do what we do without each other," Garner, 39, told Instyle in a recent interview. "Ben always says, 'If you love it, we can make it happen.”
More importantly, Affleck, 39, knows the critical role diamonds play in relationships. The Good Will Hunting actor understands how important it is to shower his wife with diamonds and gems.
"He knows when to swoop in with the gesture. He's sweet that way," Garner shared. "Honestly, I would do anything for that man, because I know it's not taken for granted."
Affleck, who is known for buying his former fiancé, recently bought Garner a pair of pink and white diamond Harry Winston bands just to say thank you for being such a wonderful mother. (The couple has two daughters, Violet, 6, and Seraphina, almost 3 years old.) Affleck reportedly also gave Garner a 7-carat diamond ring to show his love and appreciation for her a few years back.
“He said he knows he’s so lucky to have her, and that she’s a great mom,” a source said at the time.
Garner and Affleck are expecting their third child. In her interview with Instyle, Garner spoke about her difficult first trimester. For months, she felt nauseous, exhausted and had all kinds of weird cravings.
"My kids had never seen Doritos before. They would say, 'Mom, where did you get that orange chip? I really want that,' "Garner said. “I wish I was one of those cute pregnant girls who wear skinny jeans throughout their pregnancies. But I just gain weight."
What do you think? Will Affleck buy Garner some more diamonds after the birth of their third child?
