Halle Berry may boast that she “stinks at marriage”, but she sure does seem to keep trying it! Despite vows to never marry again, Berry plans to walk down the aisle for a third time.  The 45-year-old actress is engaged to French actor Olivier Martinez, who appeared in films such as Un, deux, trois, soleil, Before Night Falls  and Unfaithful. 

Berry and Martinez first met on the set of the film Dark Tide. Soon after they began dating and went public with their relationship in autumn of 2010.

“[Halle] had given up on being married, but she trusts Olivier. He makes her feel safe. He's a keeper,” an anonymous source told Us Weekly.

Back in December, Berry was photographed with a mysterious ring on her wedding finger, which sparked rumors of the engagement. The duo did an excellent job of keeping their relationship status on the down low, until the paparazzi actually got a good glimpse of Berry’s diamond sparkler.

So what engagement ring did Martinez get Berry? Is Berry’s ring as flashy as Kim Kardashian’s million-dollar rock or as eco-friendly as Natalie Portman’s antique-style engagement ring?

Martinez, 46, proposed with an emerald and diamond ring from Gurhan. According to James Allen engagement ring expert Jackie, “Emerald and diamond engagement rings are really popular choices for women who like something a little more spunky than the traditional diamond ring."

Berry has been married twice before, both ending in bitter divorces. In 1993, the Oscar-winning actress wed baseball player David Justice. 8 years later she married R&B singer Eric Benét, who she later revealed was battling and being treated for a sex addiction. Berry spoke openly about her relationship and marital troubles. In 2007, she admitted that she had contemplated suicide after her first divorce.

“My sense of worth was so low. I had to reprogram myself to see the good in me. Because someone didn’t love me didn’t mean I was unlovable. I promised myself I would never be a coward again,” she told Parade magazine of her suicidal ideations.

The second divorce, however, Berry did not take as harshly. “I knew this time I had a right to set boundaries and say, "This isn’t OK for me." I knew that it wasn’t my fault. If I hadn’t gone through the first breakup and made that promise to myself this would have leveled me,” she said of her second failed marriage.

Berry also has a 3 -year-old daughter, Nahla, with model ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. Martinz dated Australian pop Kylie Minogue for several years.
