Anne Hathaway’s NYC engagement party was a slightly less flashy than her 6-carat engagement ring from fiance Adam Shulman. Shulman, an actor and up-and-coming jewelry designer, deigned the ring with the help of Kwiat Heritage Jewels. The ring is an oval cut diamond on a thin platinum band. 

The Devil Wears Prada actress celebrated her recent engagement with an intimate party at the Housing Works Bookstore Café in downtown Manhattan. 125 close friends and family members of Hathaway attended, none of who were celebrities or big names.

Hathaway, 29, and Shulman, 30, became engaged after dating for nearly 4 years. The duo began dating just months after Hathaway split from Raffaello Follieri, a convicted real-estate investor. Follieri was charged with fraud, money laundering and conspiracy and eventually sentenced to 4 years in prison.

Earlier this month Hathaway showed off her brand new engagement ring while talking a stroll with her brown Labrador, Esmeralda at Fort Green Park in NYC.

“Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time and then I fall in love like a fool,” Hathaway told U.K’s Marie Claire in September.

"We hit it off immediately...” she said, adding that she was “very much in love" with Shulman.

Hathaway has described her connection with Shulman as more mellow than her previous relationships. “Mellow doesn't always make for a good story, but it makes for a good life,” she explained.

Hathaway rose to fame when she starred in the blockbuster hit The Princess Diaries as well as the award-winning chic flic The Devil Wears Prada. Additional film credits include Brokeback Mountain, Alice in Wonderland and One Day. Hathaway will star in the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, as Selina Kyle.
