Anne Hathaway’s oval cut diamond engagement ring has had some input from an up-and-coming jewelry designer… her fiance! Actor-turned-designer, Adam Shulman, popped the question with a ring designed by him and Kwiat Heritage Jewels. The Dark Knight Rises star (she will be playing Catwoman soon) was seen in Central Park over the weekend with Shulman and their dog.

Anne Hathaway has made headlines over the years for starring in box-office smash hits such as The Princess Diaries and The Devil Wears Prada, as well as for her classic red-carpet style, but the most salacious news of all was her previous relationship with Raffaello Follieri. Follieri was a real estate agent who was charged with fraud, money laundering and conspiracy. Needless to say, the scandal received what seemed like endless media attention and Anne Hathaway welcomed the opportunity to settle into a normal, healthy and “mellow” relationship.

As an actor, Shulman has appeared on shows such as American Dreams and The West Wing. He recently started his own jewelry company, James Banks Designs, which sells cool, rustic-looking jewelry pieces. No word yet on whether he’ll start designing his own engagement rings.
