It appears that England`s biggest playboy, Russell Brand, is retiring the single life. He`s found love… and her name is Katy Perry. Brand supposedly popped the question and presented an engagement ring to the pop singer during a spiritual ceremony on New Year`s Eve in India.

During December, Russell was spotted shopping at a London jewelers for the perfect engagement ring. Brand ended up purchasing a large, square-cut diamond set in a platinum band.

He allegedly told a friend: "Katy's managed to tame me. This is it - I'm completely in love." On Boxing Day, Brand Twitted: "Tonight I turned off my famous, hedonistic hot-tub, a monumental event. I did it for climate change. In every sense."

The couple has been dating since September 2009, when they met backstage at an MTV event.

On December 29, Perry shared a snapshot of her and Brand in front of India's famed Taj Mahal. "He built this for me," she wrote as the caption beneath the photo.

The exotic trip to India "was his Christmas gift" to Perry says a source.  "She told him how much she loved Indian culture while they were eating curry in England, so he surprised her."

A friend says that Perry has "never connected with anybody like this." As for Brand, he "is super into her. She says he makes her laugh like nobody else in the world," an insider says.

The couple are said to be celebrating their engagement in Thailand.
