Hey Country Music fans— good news!
Lady Antebellum's lead singer Hillary Scott is engaged! The country singer said "yes" to drummer boyfriend Chris Tyrell, who presented Scott with a stunning diamond engagement ring this past Fourth of July weekend.
"Chris proposed exactly the way I've always dreamed," Scott told People magazine. “Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and — in our workout clothes — he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together."
The couple met in 2010 while touring with country superstar Tim McGraw and has been dating ever since. Lady Antebellum’s latest hit "Just a Kiss" was reportedly inspired by Scott’s feelings for Tyrell.
"There is so much excitement at the beginning of a new relationship...This song is about one of those times when your brain kicks in and tells your heart, 'Good things are worth waiting for,'" the brunette bride-to-be told Billboard in a recent interview.
Ah, now the lyrics make sense:
“I know that if we give this a little time
It'll only bring us closer to the love we wanna find
It's never felt so real, no, it's never felt so right."
It looks as if Scott and Tyrell gave their relationship enough time to fully blossom. We're so glad it worked and that it’s the real deal. Isn't love the best?!
