Ali Fedowotsky Roberto Martinez The Bachelerotte engagement ring

The Bachelorette's Ali Fedotowsky sacrificed a lot for the chance to meet 25 men, find love, and eventually get the opportunity to score a marriage proposal and engagement ring from her final choice.

During her time, she suffered heartbreak, deception and betrayal but came out swinging and finally picked her dream man.

She had a choice between landscaper Chris Lambton and insurance agent Roberto Martinez.

She believes she made the right decision. "I'm so happy," Fedowtowsky told US Weekly magazine, "I've never been in such a good place my whole life."

The winner was the guy who taught her how to dance salsa in the first episode and who later played catch with her during alone time because he was a fan of baseball.  Later, they went on a daredevil date.  She had always considered him handsome and charismatic and so it was no surprise to many when Fedotowsky chose this one.

In the end, the former Facebook ad sales rep chose South Carolina-based Roberto Martinez.  Seems just about right.  He's a sports addict and she's a tomboy.

Fedowotsky accepted Martinez's marriage proposal in Bora Bora but it didn't come without some risk.  On their final date, they went jet-sking, waded among stingrays and had a picnic on a private beach.

Although she was supposed to go on a date with Lambton the next day, she realized she was in love with Martinez and wanted to be with him.  Instead of their date, Fedotowsky told Lambton that she was in love with someone else and didn't want him to go through the marriage proposal if he wasn't the right guy for her.  Lambton said goodbye.

Fedotowsky told her viewers that Martinez was definitely the man for her and the next day he showed up with his proposal.  He got down on one knee and presented an asscher-cut Neil Lane engagement ring and she said yes!

He accepted her final rose and swung her in his arms.

While it's only speculation, US Weekly reports that Fedowotsky may have known Martinez as early as 2002.  She had just graduated from Mount Greylock Regional High School in Massachusetts.  Martinez was pitching for the North Adams Steeple Cats only one town away. Perhaps they knew the same people? US Weekly would like to think so.

Friends say Martinez always talked about a girl just like Fedowotsky and Fedowotsky always showed up at his games.  Still, there's no way Fedowotsky could have known Martinez would be on the show.  She doesn't pick the men, the producers do.  And Us Weekly says that even if there was a rumored connection, there's nowhere in the contract that says previous contact is not allowed.

It was obvious she had been attracted to him from the beginning and when he became part of the final two, the world knew it was going to be him. Fedowotsky wanted to settle down and get married and she got her chance.

Let's hope this one's better than her failed time with The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka.
