Dorie Race of Middlefield Center did some spring shopping at Southfield Mall on April 10. That evening she realized that she was missing her diamond ring and thought it had likely slid off of her finger due to a recent weight loss. Dorie returned to a half dozen stores to search and leave a description and her name and number on the hopes that her very special ring would turn up. Amber Richardson would be the one to answer Dorie`s prayers. On a slow day, Amber, a jewelry department employee, decided to find some busy work. While straightening up the ladies fitting rooms, Amber found the ring. She immediately recognized it as a fine piece of jewelry, and took it to her supervisor. The supervisor, Jessica Lamb, verified the high quality of the diamond and called Dorie to confirm that it was hers. Race was elated to have the 10th anniversary gift back in her possession. She rewarded Richardson with a $50 gift certificate to a local restaurant, flowers and $50 cash. Both Richardson and Lamb will be recognized from by the store for their special efforts and honesty.
