June 27, 2009—Studio City, California 91604 – Rocker and guitar wizard Eddie Van Halen married girlfriend Janie Liszewski last night in the garden of his seven-acre estate in the hills above Studio City. Liszewski, 39, walked down the aisle to the Van Halen song “When It’s Love”. The couple wrote their own vows and designed the wedding rings—for the bride, a platinum band to match her nearly 3-carat diamond engagement ring; for the groom, a gold band with yellow diamonds. Wolfgang, son of the 54-year old groom and ex-wife Valerie Bertinelli, served as Best Man. Alex Van Halen, the groom’s brother and former bandmate, officiated the 20-minute, non-denominational ceremony. The bride was walked down the aisle by both her mother and her 15-year old Pomeranian. Liszewski wore a custom-made champagne and pink Hanna Hartnell gown with matching Bulgari earrings and bracelet. Eddie and Wolfgang wore Sy Devore cotton pants and un-tucked button-down shirts. The entire wedding party wore flip-flops. The purposely-casual affair continued with appetizers like mini-hamburgers, corn dogs, and French fries. The bar was entirely alcohol-free, as Eddie has been after struggling with alcoholism for years. Entertainment was fairly rock ‘n roll, with an aerial performance and a contortionist in a clear plastic ball floating on the pool. As they were leaving, each guest was given Calvin Klein and Kate Spade vases and flowers and old-school candy including ring-pops, pop rocks, wax lips, candy necklaces and custom-printed M&Ms.
