It was announced yesterday morning that pop diva Celine Dion is pregnant. The French-Canadian chanteuse exchanged wedding rings with long time beau Rene Angelil on Dec 17, 1994. The couple’s first child, Rene-Charles, was born in January of 2001. Angelil already has three other children from two prior marriages. A rep for the couple has confirmed the pregnancy, stating “Celine and Rene are very happy. They are crazy in love over the news… they are overjoyed.” The 41-year-old singer of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ found out the news herself only this Monday, after she and her 67-year-old husband conceived with the assistance of a team of fertility doctors in New York. The spouses’ first child was born by cesarean, after 6 years of fertility clinic treatments. The pregnancy news follows the end of Ms. Dion's recent Taking Chances world tour, which reportedly grossed $273-million. It seems future motherhood may interfere will the singer’s forthcoming commitments, including performing at the opening ceremony of the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. The mega star is also scheduled to perform at Caesars Palace in June 2010, alongside contemporaries Bette Midler and Cher. According to Dion’s spokeswoman, Ms. Blondeau, “it has all happened so fast,” and it is unclear whether she will have to cancel those appearances. In 2003, Celine signed a 5-year contract with Caesars Palace to appear in a newly built $100-million, 4,000-seat theatre called the Coliseum. At a press conference in 2007, she said the years in Las Vegas had helped her "grow tremendously. It gave me a lot of stability. I'm very grounded." According to Forbes Magazine, she is the third-wealthiest woman in show business, after Oprah Winfrey and Madonna.
