 | Nicolas Cage Is Being Sued By His Ex
Wed, December 9th 2009, 14:40 EST | | It seems like old Nicolas Cage cannot find a break in his financial situation. It’s not bad enough the man has such spending habits that he cannot afford to keep the things he owns - now he must also deal with a $13 million lawsuit from his ex.
Christina Fulton, mother of Cage’s eldest child Weston, is suing Nicolas for fraud and breach of contract. She claims she is tangled up in his financial mismanagement and is in debt for more than $1.2 million herself as a result.
In an October lawsuit, Cage said he faces financial ruin after allegedly being swindled by his former accountant, Samuel Levin. Cage currently owes $6.3 million in back taxes. He also recently defaulted on a $2 million loan.
Cage has built a reputation of being one of the craziest spenders in Hollywood, blowing his fortune on fast cars, diamond jewelery, yachts, castles and a collection of shrunken heads and dinosaur skulls. He has begun a massive sale of his possessions in order to prevent financial collapse.
Fulton, 42, is a former actress. She says she was given a home in L.A. years ago as payment for raising Weston. Until recently, she believed the home to be under her name. In September, Cage supposedly served her with a 60-day eviction notice.

|  | Relative Finds Missing Ring In Mall Parking Lot

After spending Thanksgiving with his parents in Chicago, Michael Ebner decided to go shopping on “Black Friday” before heading home to Indiana. He was accompanied on his shopping trip to Peru Mall by his son, Ryan, and daughter-in-law, Bethany.
According to Michael’s recollection, Bethany removed her wedding ring and engagement ring in the car to apply hand lotion. She assumed she placed the rings in her purse, but most likely just left them on her lap. When they left the car, both gems fell to the floor, but no one noticed.
Hours later, after realizing that Bethany has lost her rings, they returned to the mall parking lot where their car was parked. They returned to the parking lot and found the wedding band on the pavement where their car was parked. But the engagement ring was nowhere to be found. They searched and searched, but with no avail.
“We pretty much thought it was gone,” explained Michael. Then Bergner’s employees told Michael someone had reported finding a ring, but they unfortunately did not have that person’s information. | |
|  | Chelsea Clinton Is Engaged
Tue, December 1st 2009, 18:54 EST | | A spokesman for former President Bill Clinton told ABC News that his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, is engaged to her longtime boyfriend Marc Mezvinsky.
Chelsea is the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton - the current Secretary of State in President Barack Obama’s Cabinet. She met Mezvinsky when they were both teenagers in Washington. They both attended Stanford University in California.
Mezvinsky is a son of former Pennsylvania Rep. Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky and former Iowa Rep. Ed Mezvinsky, who are longtime friends of the Clintons.
Engagement rumors spread earlier this year – false reports claimed that the duo had planned an August wedding at the resort island of Martha's Vineyard, but Hillary denied them.
The couple sent out an e-mail to friends on Friday announcing the joyous news. They are aiming to exchange wedding rings next summer:

|  | Diamond Ring Falls From Hot Air Balloon
Wed, November 11st 2009, 13:19 EST | | Some people just have no luck. Take James Ng for example. Mr. Ng was set to propose to his girlfriend during a hot air balloon ride, but it wasn’t meant to be. As he was 500 feet above the ground, the ring slipped from his grasp towards the disappearing earth.
The 26-year-old pastor had it all planned out. He would hide the one-carat diamond engagement ring in a box and place the box in his camera case. Unfortunately, it didn’t go according to plan. “I just watched it tumble and it hit a tree and spun around and the stuff fluttered out of it,” said Ng. “And I just put my head down on the side of the balloon and I was just - I just couldn't believe I'd just done that.”
The camera case with the box containing the ring fell from Ng's hands and disappeared into the trees below.
“My first thought was just don't tell her what fell out of the balloon, and buy another ring, which it took me forever to afford the one I had,” but his girlfriend, Sonya Bostic, quickly figured out what had happened.
“When the bag dropped and he reacted the way he did, that's when I knew,” Bostic confesses. “Wait a second! My ring's in there!”
Despite the mishap, Ng dropped to one knee and proposed anyway. But Ng's mind didn’t stop working.
“I got up and I was like, what river did we just pass? Where was that? I started trying to get a feel for where we were.” | |
|  | Manhattan Diamond Dash For Charity
Wed, September 16th 2009, 10:41 EST | | Last Saturday, hundreds of couples ran around Manhattan in search of a $20,000 engagement ring, a luxurious Hawaiian honeymoon, and many other prizes during the ‘Diamond Dash: Dash For a Diamond & a Cure’ event.
The charity event, which raised money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, was sponsored by Michael C. Fina and Tacori. Partisipants were encouraged to donate $100.00 to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society instead of paying a registration fee. Nearly $3,000 was raised.
The dash started at noon at Battery Park. Couples were provided text message clues, which led to various wedding-related places throughout Manhatten, including Michael C. Fina, Hearst, John Allan, Tumi, Godiva Chocolatier, Ron Ben-Israel, Kleinfeld, and mad46.
Tom Weymouth and Katherine Gordon of Astoria, NY won the grand prize and an opportunity to propose live at the Rooftop Lounge of the Roosevelt Hotel.
It took them approximately 3 hours to complete the course, using subways, cabs, and a healthy sprint. After winning, Tom got on one knee and said, “Kat, I'd run anywhere with you.”
Actually, this wasn’t the first time these lovebirds participated in a similar event. According to Tom: “Kat and I love games and one of our first dates was a race around New York where we really bonded as a couple. When we saw the Diamond Dash advertised, we knew it was meant to be. When we actually won we just couldn't believe our luck!” | |

Now fans can finally let out a huge sign of relief (or disbelief), because the famous comic redhead teen has made a decision. In the first installment of a six-part series due to hit newsstand on September 1st, Archie present an engagement ring to Veronica. That’s right, he went with the brunette.
“there’s very few things that I can ever think of that will trump this type of event,” says Happy Harbor Comics owner, Jay Bardyla, “Especially something that’s of characters that are known by so many people.”
Tim Lasiuta, a comic book historian, described the marriage as “a bold step” to create a buzz among Archie devotees.
Indeed the marriage comes as a surprise to most longtime fans, expecting Archie’s decision to go on indefinitely. Many are surprised that he chose Veronica over Betty. Fan marc Desgagne said “To be honest, it would have been Betty for me, because she was more down to earth compared to Veronica.”

|  | Man Finds His Wedding Ring At The Bottom Of A Harbor
Thu, August 20th 2009, 08:14 EST | | How far would you go for love? For a New Zealand local the answer was ‘very far’. After dropping his wedding ring to the bottom of Wellington Harbor, Aleki Taumoepeau, swore to his new bride that he would retrieve the sunken treasure… that was 16 months ago.
The NIWA ecologist was scouring the harbor for invasive plant species last March when the ring slipped from his finger. He quickly threw an anchor overboard in an attempt to mark the loose whereabouts of the band. He swore to his wife of three months, Rachel, that he would find the token of their bliss.
Describing the incident, Rachel said “It flew off into the air and everyone on the boat was looking at it and said it was like a scene from Lord of the Rings in slow motion.”
Three months after the incident Aleki Taumoepeau was on the hunt for the ring, but the quest proved to be unsuccessful. Thankfully, Aleki was back on the scene recently for another attempt. | |

The French-Canadian chanteuse exchanged wedding rings with long time beau Rene Angelil on Dec 17, 1994. The couple’s first child, Rene-Charles, was born in January of 2001.
Angelil already has three other children from two prior marriages.
A rep for the couple has confirmed the pregnancy, stating “Celine and Rene are very happy. They are crazy in love over the news… they are overjoyed.”
The 41-year-old singer of ‘My Heart Will Go On’ found out the news herself only this Monday, after she and her 67-year-old husband conceived with the assistance of a team of fertility doctors in New York. The spouses’ first child was born by cesarean, after 6 years of fertility clinic treatments.
The pregnancy news follows the end of Ms. Dion's recent Taking Chances world tour, which reportedly grossed $273-million.
