The 23rd Indian International Jewellery Show to Open SoonThu, April 27th 2006, 09:36 EST | |
|  The 23rd India International Jewellery Show (IIJS 2006)will be held at the NSE Complex in Goregaon, Mumbai. The event will be home to 1,500 stalls and will spread across 46,000 meters. This is the largest fair trade organized by any industry or commodity sector. As of April 24 there were 13,346 pre-registrations. Visitor totals could be upwards of 30,000. When asked about the upcoming IIJS 2006, Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) Chairman Bakul Mehta said, "IIJS has become the largest B2B event for the gem and jewelry industry in the South East Asian region. this year at IIJS 2006, the real advancement is not merely in terms of scale of the show but a special emphasis on raising the quality and standards of the event. This year our main focus is to provide greater value to all participants including our exhibitors and visitors."Convener IIJS Committee, GJEPC says, "In an era where knowledge bank at its disposal and skill-competitiveness of its human resources. Seminars and workshops at IIJS 2006 are specially designed to fulfill this specific need of the gem and jewelry industry."Seminars will be held on a range of topics including lastest developments in skills in running a jewelry business, 21st century retailing, product selection, selling online, and branding. Speakers from World Gold Council, Rio Tinto Diamonds, McCann Erickson, and Multi Commodities Exchange will also be at the show.
