So you’ve said your vows, exchanged wedding rings, and now you’re ready to let loose and have some fun dancing. Instead of hiring a DJ or some second-rate wedding band, why not hire the Rolling Stones? That’s right, the Rolling Stones. For a mere 5 million pounds, singer Mick Jagger, guitarist Keith Richards, drummer Charlie Watts and guitarist Ronnie Wood would be delighted to perform all the hits - from ‘Brown Sugar’ to ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’ – and everything else in between. The Stones’ hefty price tag have earned them the distinguished designation of the world’s most expensive wedding act, ahead of pop stars Elton John and Kylie Minogue, who only ask for 2 million pounds to play at weddings. Elton, however, donates his earnings from private concerts to the Elton John AIDS Foundation, a charity he set up and organized. According to a recent poll, diva Christina Aguilera was named the fourth most expensive nuptial performer at 1.5 million pounds a show and George Michaels earns a colossal 1.3 million pounds for a private concert. Amy Winehouse, Paul McCartney and Jennifer Lopez each earn a whopping 1 million pounds per performance. Just last Friday, U2 took a break from their tour to perform at the wedding of Andrea Corr (of The Corrs) and billionaire Brett Desmond. So, if you or someone you know is planning a wedding, don’t settle for the same old song and dance. Write a check for 5 million pounds and have the Rolling Stones inject their ageing rock n’ roll into your wedding day – you won’t regret it.
