When Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger wants a quiet evening out with his girlfriend of eight years, L’Wren Scott, he is often dismayed—but never surprised—when the paparazzi catches up with them. On Sunday night, when the couple was leaving London’s Donmar Warehouse Theatre, where they had just seen ‘A Streetcar Named Desire’, they were caught again on camera, and, again, NOT on camera together. The couple has tried over the years to avoid being photographed together. Although they bought a 6 million pound home together in 2006, spending hundred of thousands on renovations, they have not, as far as anyone knows, exchanged wedding rings yet. Scott has, however, been seeing wearing a huge diamond on her wedding finger, but has been coy about whether or not it is an engagement ring from the twice-married frontman, telling the Daily Mail that “It’s a very beautiful ring and that’s all I’m going to say about it.” L’Wren Scott, a former model and now a celebrity stylist, has embraced the family that she has inherited along with her famous love, and, unlike his previous girlfriends, has no plans to have children with him. He already has six children from previous relationships. Scott is now 42, and Jagger is 65. Jerry Hall, Jagger’s ex-wife and mother to four of his children, has commented before that he was cheap and that she had to pay for everything. After their marriage was annulled in 1999, Jagger seemed content to live on property neighboring his ex, reportedly to be close to his children, but rumors flew that it was because he didn’t want to buy another house. Hall was uncomfortable with her ex living next door with his new girlfriend, so Jagger lived for several years in an apartment at Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair. Then, after five years with Scott, he finally bought the property in which they now live. Although the 6’4” Scott doesn’t hesitate to drape her left arm, diamond ring obvious to everyone, around the shoulder of her 5’10” love, the couple still refuses to confirm any speculation regarding their relationship. It is an undoubtedly solid relationship, as Scott was by her man’s side at the 2006 funeral of Joe Jagger, Mick’s father. Also in attendance were ex-wives Bianca Jagger and Jerry Hall and ex-girlfriend Marsha Hunt, along with their collective children with the famous frontman. Sources close to Jagger have said that he is so protective of his personal life that neither the public nor his managers or bandmates would be likely to hear about a wedding until after it already happened. Jagger’s spokesperson has also remarked that, “Mick’s really not the sort to have some kind of engagement. If they were going to get married, they would probably just do it.” If the notorious bachelor does, indeed, choose to marry again, there will not be a large ceremony. The couple is so private about their relationship that they left Sunday night’s show separately after being advised that the paparazzi were waiting outside. While Jagger looked unfazed, Scott appeared surprised in photos taken of her. Even after eight years together and a dazzling diamond ring on her wedding finger, Scott still chooses to remain coy on the topic. It is, perhaps, wise for her, as she doesn’t want to be the third ex-Mrs. Mick Jagger.
