This past Sunday, Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss exchanged wedding rings with Saturday Night Live funny man Fred Armisen at The Foundry in Long Island City, New York. The ceremony took place in front of friends and family. In August, the couple mentioned that they wanted a simple, “medium-sized” wedding, and that Moss would be wearing a Claire Pettibone dress. “It was actually the only and first designer I ever wanted,” explained Moss. “I just thought [the dresses] were really beautiful.” The pair has been engaged since January. It is the first marriage for Moss, 27, and the second marriage for Armisen, 42. Armisen is best know for portraying President Barack Obama on Saturday Night Live, and Moss is famous for her role as Peggy Olson on AMC’s hit drama, Mad Men, as well as having played first daughter Zoey Bartlet on the NBC television series The West Wing. Whoopi Goldberg first broke news of their nuptials on The View on Monday morning. You can probably bet that Oscar-winning scribe Paul Haggis was not in attendance. Haggis, who wrote the award-winning screenplay for Crash, recently broke ties with the Church of Scientology after 35 years as a member. However, Elisabeth Moss is currently a Scientologist, so they probably aren’t seeing eye-to-eye much these days.
