Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump and Vice President of the Trump Organization, got engaged Wednesday night to her boyfriend of two years, Jared Kushner. She announced the engagement via Twitter on Thursday, saying, “I got engaged last night…truly the happiest day of my life!!!” Ivanka’s engagement ring, a 5.22-carat marquise-cut diamond set in platinum, is said to be from her own jewelry line. Ivanka told New York Magazine that, “Jared and I are very similar in that we’re very ambitious. That’s what makes it so amazing to be in a relationship with someone who is supportive of that.” Kushner is the son of New Jersey real estate developer Charles Kushner. This marriage will merge two of real estate’s most successful families. The younger Kushner is also acting publisher of the New York Observer, which his father bought in 2006. Both mother Ivana, who remarried in April, and father Donald, who remarried in 2005, are thrilled about their daughter’s upcoming nuptials. It is guaranteed to be a tremendous affair with a Who’s-Who-In-The-World guest list. Ivanka also announced that she will be converting to Judaism for her husband-to-be. A number of celebrities have converted prior to getting married. Sacha Baron Cohen and fianc?e Isla Fisher had to postpone their wedding because her conversion in not complete. Should Leonardo DiCaprio and Bar Rafaeli reunite, they will not be able to marry unless he converts to Judaism, the model’s father has said. And Madonna now has young Jesus Luz actively studying Kabbalah, although he, like Madonna, was born to a Catholic family. No wedding date has been set yet for the Trump/Kushner wedding.
