|  An auction in Singapore on Sunday, March 26th ended with the premiere piece still available. A Singapore couple made the highest bid for a 40-carat oblong diamond necklace, which is set in 18-carat white gold and also contains 50 smaller diamonds. The high bid was $332,000 but was still short of the seller’s expectations ($540,000). The estimate of the necklace was between $400,000 and $600,000. The sale took place at Hotel Hilton Singapore, where about 200 people attended and 224 other items were sold. There just weren’t enough bidders driving up the price for this special piece.
