 | Man Sues Woman Over Engagement Ring
Mon, March 1st 2010, 16:22 EST | | Here’s a sad, but amusing story about love gone wrong. It involves Rena Hope Friedman, Roger Adler and one very expensive engagement ring.
When Roger Adler, 42, asked Rena Hope Friedman, 41, to marry him, she gladly accepted. Roger then slipped a $58,000 diamond and platinum engagement ring on her finger.
Just 12 days later, the engagement unfortunately ended. However, when Roger asked for the engagement ring back, Rena simply refused.
Now Roger is suing Rena in Manhattan Supreme Court, claiming Rena accepts marriage proposals and engagement rings then breaks off the engagement and keeps the rings. He claims his ex was “previously engaged to another male . . . the engagement ended under similar circumstances . . . [she] failed to return the engagement ring in the previous matter,” according to court papers.
Roger said the pair met at a Hamptons Labor Day party after being introduced by their mothers. He also said that Rena was set on marriage, and that they dated for only six weeks before he proposed. “She kept rushing me and rushing me,” he said.
The day after Roger presented Rena with the gorgeous ring, she managed to convince the appraiser to put her name on the appraisal in preparation for selling the ring in her name. | |
|  | Bachelor’s Jason And Molly Get Married
Sun, February 28th 2010, 06:51 EST | | Jason Mesnick and Molly Malaney of The Bachelor fame officially exchanged wedding rings on Saturday.
Approximately 300 guests were present as the couple exchanged vows at the Terranea Resort on the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes of California. The event will be televised on the March 8th special The Bachelor: Jason and Molly’s Wedding on ABC.
“We’re really excited for them,” said former Bachelorette Jillian Harris. Harris, who participated for Jason’s affection on The Bachelor, attended the ceremony with Ed Swiderski, who she became engaged to last year on The Bachelorette.
“They are very ‘normal’ in one sense, but on the other hand both of us have been through things in terms of the tabloids and drama after our shows were over,” says Harris. “We’re so sympathetic to each other’s relationships that we’re huge supporters of each other.”
Former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants Trista and Ryan Sutter, DeAnna Pappas, Jesse Csinsak and Kiptyn Locke were among the 300 guests in attendance. | |

According to friends, Sienna is only wearing the ring because she likes how it looks. They argue that she is not engaged because she is not wearing the ring on her wedding finger.
Although Miller and Law were once engaged, they called it off in 2006 after Jude confessed to having an affair with his children’s nanny. However, the couple has recently reunited, and Miller appears extremely happy about it. In fact, her friends say they wouldn’t be surprised if they did decide to marry.

The event - which took place in New York’s Fifth Avenue Apple Store - was officiated by a man dressed as Steve Jobs, who read the couple their vows from an iPhone.
Why did Li and Ting decide to marry at an Apple Store? “We got to know each other because Ting was looking to buy an iPod...and I managed to strike up a conversation that way,” Josh explained to Entertainment Weekly. “I used to joke that the Apple Store is my church because I am not religious, and I loved everything Apple," he elaborated. “Ting then came up with the idea of having the wedding there.”
The wedding rings were carried on a 1st generation iPod and Ting’s vows were written on a card that said: “I love you more than this,” which was followed by a picture of an iPhone. | |

In an email distributed by the oilers yesterday, Duff said that the two “are very excited to share this happy news.”
22-year-old Hilary Duff is the star of Disney’s hit show Lizzie McGuire and movies like Cheaper by the Dozen and A Cinderella Story. Recently, she has a recurring guest spot on the CW series Gossip Girl.

The 28-year-old socialite and daughter of Lionel Richie confirmed the engagement during a taping of The Late Show With David Letterman on Monday, after David asked her is she and Joel were married.
Letterman asked Richie: “You're not married yet, is that correct?”
“We're not married,” she answered.
“Are you engaged? Are you planning to get married?” Letterman persisted.
“We actually recently are engaged, yes,” Richie replied.
Earlier during the week, Joel revealed that he and Nicole were engaged via Twitter.

Mon, February 15th 2010, 06:34 EST | | Poor, fat Kevin Smith. The director of Clerks, Jersey Girl and Mallrats was delayed getting from Oakland to Burbank on Sunday because Southwest Airlines considered him a safety risk due to his sizeable weight and removed him from a flight.
Smith responded via Twitter, and the responses are what you would expect: “Dear @SouthwestAir - I know I'm fat, but was Captain Leysath really justified in throwing me off a flight for which I was already seated?”
“I'm way fat... But I'm not THERE just yet,” he continued. “But if I am, why wait til my bag is up, and I'm seated WITH ARM RESTS DOWN. In front of a packed plane with a bunch of folks who'd already I.d.ed me as 'Silent Bob.'”
Southwest Airlines gave Smith a $100 voucher and put him on a different flight. But that didn’t stop the director from continuing his barrage: “Hey @SouthwestAir! Look how fat I am on your plane! Quick! Throw me off!”
“The @SouthwestAir Diet. How it works: you're publicly shamed into a slimmer figure. Crying the weight right off has never been easier!” he continued. “Hey @SouthwestAir! I've landed in Burbank. Don't worry: wall of the plane was opened & I was airlifted out while Richard Simmons supervised.”
Southwest Airlines has a policy that requires customers to buy an additional seat if they cannot fit between the armrests of a single seat. When extra seats are available, these customers are given a refund or relocated free of charge.

Popular favorites include “LETS KISS” and “MY BABY.” In fact, it’s an even bigger tradition that getting down on one knee and giving your girlfriend an engagement ring and offering a proposal.
Everybody knows that Sweethearts taste pretty awful. “I would describe the taste to be, uh, like a delicious chalk,” says Keith Luke. Jonah Spiegel agrees: “They're kind of weird-tasting.” Even Spiegel’s mom chimes in: “They kind of taste like Pepto-Bismol a little bit.”

|  | Groom Has Marriage Annulled After Getting Good Look At Wife
Thu, February 11st 2010, 16:16 EST | | Here’s a story that ought to crack you up, and maybe even make your lunch turn. According to news reports from the United Arab Emirates, an Arab ambassador received quite a shock after he exchanged wedding rings with his bride.
Since it is custom for women in Arab countries to cover their face with a veil, the unnamed ambassador courted his bride – a doctor – without actually seeing her face. He simply relied on a photograph shown to him by the bride’s mother.
Well, on the wedding day, after he lifted the veil to kiss the bride, he discovered she was cross-eyed and had facial hair. Turns out the photograph he was shown was of the bride’s attractive sister.
Quickly, the ambassador went to seek an annulment. He told the Islamic sharia court that he was duped into marriage and deserved compensation. According to Gulf News, he requested that the court refer the woman to a specialist to see if she suffered from hormonal problems. The specialist found there to be no such problem.

Well, Prejean has made news again. Over the weekend, Carrie became engaged to St. Louis Rams quarterback Kyle Boller, Carrie’s mother, Francine Coppola, told Access Hollywood.
According to Francine, her 22-year-old daughter described the proposal as something right from the movies. Kyle, 28, presented Carrie with a gorgeous 5 carat diamond engagement ring.
The pair celebrated their engagement at a Super Bowl party with friends and family in Solana Beach. Carrie is from San Diego and Kyle grew up in Southern California.
According to Francine, Carrie is “very excited” about the engagement. The couple has not yet chosen a date to exchange wedding rings.
Carrie was previously involved with swimmer Michael Phelps, and Kyle once dated actress Tara Reid.
