The Crater of Diamonds park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the first diamond find at the site. John Huddleston, a farmer who owned the property at the time, found the first stone. There will be a celebration with more than 100 diamonds found at the park on display. Included in the collection are the "Star of Shreveport", at 8.82 carats, and the Lamle diamond weighing 8.61 carats. To date in 2006, 218 diamonds have been unearthed at the park, which is the only public diamond mine in the world. June is "Diamonds in Arkansas Month" says Arkansas Governor Huckabee.
