Gloucestershire, England – Kate Middleton, the longtime girlfriend of Prince William of Wales, re-ignited engagement rumors over the weekend during a charity polo match.  When the royal couple arrived at the event, Middleton was wearing two rings on her right hand.  A few minutes later, she was seen with one of the rings on the ring finger of her left hand.  A spectator told The Daily Star that, “It was a very strange thing to do and everyone was wondering what she meant and if she was trying to tell us something about her and William.”

Prince William has kept his private life quiet and private, and would likely not tell anyone outside the family when he gives—or has given—an engagement ring to Middleton.  However, after it became public that the couple had been invited to the Queen’s traditional holiday in Balmoral, it seemed that, if the couple was not already thinking of wedding rings, they soon would be.  Meeting Queen Elizabeth II is the last significant event that would have to take place before a wedding would get her blessing. 

The BBC is so certain that the couple is preparing for a wedding that it is already creating a documentary about William and Kate, to be broadcast on the night that their engagement is officially announced to the public.

In June, the couple most certainly to be dubbed “Wills and Kate” rented a romantic holiday home under the names Mr. and Mrs. Smith.  It was said to part of the birthday celebration of William, who turned 27 on June 21.  The celebration became more of a party with the arrival of the far-less-reserved Prince Harry, who brought with him a good time and created a beach party for his older brother.

On May 3rd, William had to move his girlfriend out of his home on the military base to prepare for the arrival of younger brother Harry, who is training to pilot the Apache attack helicopter for the British Army.  His training is at the same RAF base in Shropshire where William has been learning to become a search and rescue pilot.  A little over a month after Middleton had to move out, she and Prince William were rumored to be shopping for a multi-million-dollar home in Malibu. 

It seems that either William has given Kate an engagement ring, or they have discussed it.  The simple act of moving a ring from one hand to the other wouldn’t raise eyebrows for regular people, but if you are dating the heir to the throne of England, it speaks volumes.
