On Monday, FOX network aired the Teen Choice Awards. The much-hyped box office blockbuster, ‘Twilight’, dominated the event with 11 wins.
Hosted by The Jonas Brothers, Joe, Kevin and Nick, The Teen Choice Awards honor celebrities in TV, film, music and sports, as selected by over 83 million online votes.
Kevin Jonas, who recently gave girlfriend Danielle Deleasa an engagement ring, had more reason to celebrate, as he and his brothers took home 5 awards, including choice male red carpet icons. The siblings performed at the start of the ceremony and completed fan-submitted dares throughout the program.
In more king of pop-related news, the godfather of Michael Jackson's three children is claiming to be the father of the singer's daughter, Paris.
In a video interview with Jackson's longtime friend Mark Lester, 51, broadcast on the News of the World Web site, Lester states he donated his sperm at a London clinic. He said Jackson had already exchanged wedding rings with Debbie Rowe at the time.
Now Lester is arguing: "I gave Michael my sperm so that he could have kids — and I believe Paris is my daughter." He further elaborated: "It's been a secret for too long. In 1996 Michael asked me if I would give him my sperm and I said yes. It was a gift to him, no money was paid, it was something I was honoured to do. He wanted children so badly.”
Since quitting ‘American Idol’ last week, Paula Abdul has been receiving offers, including a spot on ABC’s hit show, ‘Dancing with the Stars’. According to ABC Entertainment President Steve McPherson, he called her right after he heard about her exit from ‘American Idol’ to let her know she was welcome anytime on ‘Dancing with the Stars’.
Abdul, who famously exchanged wedding rings with The Breakfast Club star, Emilio Estevez, in 1992, has seen a real up shift in her career since appearing on ‘American Idol’.
About inviting Abdul to appear on Dancing with the Stars, McPherson had some very kind and generous words: “I told her we'd love to have her on 'Dancing' - as a judge, a guest star or a contestant. She's a huge talent. I think there's a sensitivity and a kind of emotion to her that balances out 'Idol.' And we'd love to get a piece of that. It would be great."
The main co-stars of HBO’s successful vampire drama series, ‘True Blood’, are getting set to exchange wedding rings. Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer have confirmed they are engaged to be married.
In yet another instance of life mirroring art, the real-life couple also plays a passionate couple on the hit show: Paquin plays the telepathic Sookie Stackhouse, who is in love with vampire Bill Compton, played by Moyer.
New Zealand born Paquin, 27, is a successful film actress. She won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1994 for her role in ‘The Piano’, opposite Holly Hunter and Harvey Keitel, when she was only 11 years old. She also had a prominent role in the blockbuster X-Men franchise, alongside Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry. “True Blood” is her first major Television series and she won a Golden Globe for her performance earlier this year.
Well, it’s official. American Idol judge, Paula Abdul, will not be returning for the hit reality show’s ninth season, which begins early next year. The former pop dancer, choreographer and singer of the hits ‘Opposites Attract’ and ‘Straight Up’, had a tumultuous personal and career path that was resurrected in 2002, when she joined American Idol’s first season as a judge. She has served on the show for eight seasons.
In 1992, Abdul famously exchanged wedding rings with The Breakfast Club star, Emilio Estevez, but the couple was divorced only 2 years later, in 1994. Paula’s public image has suffered from eating disorders, substance abuse allegations, and a famous hit-and-run incident in 2004. However, Abdul’s tenure on American Idol has provided her A-list recognition and celebrity status, despite these setbacks.
Chris Brown is slowly trying to rebuild his public image after having a much publicized altercation with potential fiancee, Rihanna, by issuing a public apology on Larry King Live tomorrow and asking for his former sweetheart’s forgiveness. Since January, the singer of the hit song ‘Umbrella’ had been seen flashing an engagement ring reportedly given to her by Chris Brown, although the two have kept any word of an engagement under wraps.
Until recently, Chris Brown, the singer of ‘Forever’, has not addressed the February assault incident publicly, except for a video message he released in July. His appearance on Larry King Live would be his third apology.
Heroes star Ali Larter exchanged wedding rings with longtime boyfriend, actor Hayes MacArthur, in a small, intimate ceremony on Saturday. The affair took place at the groom’s parent’s estate in Kennebunkport, Maine.
The event took place outdoors with guests arriving via trolley. To honor the groom’s heritage, traditional Irish music was played before the start of the ceremony.
This is the first marriage for both Larter and MacArthur. Actress Amy Smart, star of Road Trip and Just friends was in attendance.
The couple had been dating for five years before announcing their engagement in December 2007. Since then, Larter has proudly been flashing her engagement ring all over town.
After being together for nearly eight years, Mark Wahlberg, 38, and model Rhea Durham, 31, finally exchanged wedding rings on Saturday, August 1, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Beverly Hills.
The ceremony was an intimate affair that lasted only 45 minutes and was attended by the couple’s three children – Ella Rae, Michael, and Brendan Joseph – and twelve close friends and family members. The church was decorated with candles and pink and purple roses. Wahlberg donned a traditional dark suit and white tie and his bride wore a white strapless flowing Marchesa gown with silver embroidery and a Neil Lane diamond-and-platinum cushion-cut engagement ring complemented by a diamond bracelet and earrings.
When Ed Swiderski dropped to one knee and proposed to Jillian Harris on the finale of “The Bachelorette”, he did it with style. The man known for his interesting fashion choices was able to offer a great ring with designer Neil Lane. He was given an array of diamond rings to choose from, but one in particular caught his eye: a 2.05-carat pear-shaped center diamond with six baguettes on each side, and a band encrusted with 94 round brilliant diamonds.
Chicago, IL – Northwestern University scientist Dean Ho recently discovered that using nanoscale diamonds can help heal wounds much faster. Dr. Ho and his team found that diamonds tend to attract insulin, best known for helping to regulate blood sugar.
